GST Calculator

Enter an amount and select the applicable GST rate — 5%, 12%, 18%, or 28% — to instantly calculate the GST amount and the total price. The calculator supports two modes: exclusive (adding GST on top of a base price) and inclusive (extracting the GST component from a price that already includes tax).

Exclusive mode is what most businesses need when quoting a pre-tax price and want to show the customer the final amount. Inclusive mode is useful when you have a shelf price or MRP and need to know how much of that price is tax — common in retail, invoicing, and compliance scenarios.

The tool handles all four standard Indian GST slabs and shows a clear breakdown of CGST and SGST (or IGST) so you can use the numbers directly on invoices and returns.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between exclusive and inclusive GST?

Exclusive GST means the tax is added on top of the base price — if your product costs 1000 and GST is 18%, the total is 1180. Inclusive GST means the price already contains the tax — a 1180 inclusive price at 18% means the base price is 1000 and the GST component is 180.

Which GST rate should I use?

The rate depends on the goods or services: 5% covers essential items and transport, 12% covers processed foods and business-class travel, 18% is the standard rate for most services and manufactured goods, and 28% applies to luxury items, automobiles, and sin goods.

Does this calculate CGST and SGST separately?

Yes. For intra-state transactions, GST is split equally between CGST (Central) and SGST (State). The calculator shows both components. For inter-state transactions, the full amount is IGST.
