By using The Paper Room, you agree to these terms. They're written to be readable, but they're still binding. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using The Paper Room(the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these terms.
Description of service
The Paper Room provides free, browser-based document and utility tools — PDF manipulation, image editing, spreadsheet conversion, developer utilities, and more. Most tools run entirely in your browser with no data sent to any server. Some features, such as AI-powered tools, require an account and may involve server-side processing. Optional paid features (credits for AI tools) are available but not required for the majority of the platform.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to: violate any applicable law or regulation; infringe on the rights of others; distribute malware or harmful code; attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service; abuse free-tier limits through automated signups or credential stuffing; or use the Service in any way that could damage, disable, or impair it. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for violations.
Intellectual property
You retain full ownership of any content you process through The Paper Room. We claim no rights to your files, documents, or data. The Service itself — including its code, design, branding, and documentation — is owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute the platform without permission.
Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that results will be accurate. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, if any.
Accounts and credits
Most tools do not require an account. AI-powered tools require a free account and operate on a credit system. Free credits are provided at signup; additional credits can be purchased. Credits are non-transferable and non-refundable. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate these terms or abuse the credit system.
Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. You may delete your account and all associated data from your account page. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms, with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately, but these terms continue to apply to your prior use.
Governing law
These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. The specific jurisdiction has not yet been designated — this section should be reviewed and finalized by legal counsel before the platform is used in production.
Changes to these terms
